Then we partticipationThis page is devoted to the pedagogical aspect of this project and what our teachers have been able to produce to use it effectively in an educational context.
*the teachers participating to this project have designed a trail to test the potential of geocaching with 60 pupils on the site of the BARRY in Bollène. This trail relied on the pupils' capacity to get oriented, to use their observation skills and their knowledge about maths, geography and English.
*The second step of the project was to let the pupils create 2 trails with enigmas, one about food and tourism, the other abouT history and tourism.
*We have then created tutorials to explain the workings of geocaching.com and the creation of trails to our European partners as well as the other students involved in the project.
then we participated to each mobility taking in any advice and idea to create other trails about other subjects : maths science and arts !

OUR FIRST TRAIL : Food!
The pupils created a trail with an enigma : each step of the way, the geocacheur will find one ingredient of the recipe in the caches! Thanks to the success of this first trail, we were invited to the local council for tourism and a partnership was formed with them to promote the region through the creation of educational trails Click here to find our trail : www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC70TNE_1-a-traditional-sweet-from-provence?guid=5923fa86-ecc8-4120-b537-3e1b476e4b79 www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC70PBF_2-a-traditional-sweet-from-provence?guid=49e52b90-427a-435c-92e5-d7900e07c377 www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC70TP6_3-a-traditional-sweet-from-provence?guid=4da8b6f8-fc2d-4699-8b86-55e0c165e5af www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC70TPW_4-a-traditional-sweet-from-provence?guid=ba92a9a2-8fa5-48dd-873c-8df629e87ec4 www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC70TR4_5-a-traditional-sweet-from-provence-finale?guid=a1554211-8053-49cd-a0a2-acf5c3993f98 |

SCHOOL TRIP :
USING GEOCACHING FOR SIGHTSEEING AND TO GATHER INFORMATION!
pupils will be required to create oral presentations on the different subjects given to them (see document attached) : history, local folklore, arts, politics
the trails have been designed for them to get basic knowledge and geographical landmarks about the city they are visiting, and interact with local people. Since it is a school trip in a foreign city, existing geocaches have been exploited to create the trails...

STEP 3 (bis): 09/18/2018 : A SCHOOL TRIP to help create bonds between pupils : testing the math trail and promoting geocaching through the local press
STEP 4: DISSEMINATION OF THE RESULTS AND PROMOTION OF ERASMUS+ : A GEOCACHING EVENT ON THE OCCASION OF ERASMUS 30TH ANNIVERSARY!
SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR, all the pupils belonging to the project have prepared a special day to promote geocaching, their work, and the erasmus programme!
to that end, they have created a treasure hunt to make pupils discover a real cache hidden inside the school and have shown their fellow pupils how to use clues to get to the cache.
they have also created mini-exhibitions to show the work done during the mobilities, created a funny questionnaire to show european stereotypes and an event was officially created on the geocaching website to invite REAL geocachers to discover the school and their work, as well as try the (sweet) specialties of each country!
An d to incite geocachers to come to the event, a new informative cache was also created by history teachers to promote lucie aubrac, a french resistant the school is named after.

here is how we measured the impact of our work
OUR LAST trail : inspired from the greek work on science the pupils have created their own quizzes about biology and the human body and set up a mystery trail within the town of bollene, highlighting the city's brand new sporting equipement : here is the link to the trail with links to the quizzes : sports and science trail
